Christian Karega
Chairwoman of the Board
Christian Karega is the President/Chairwoman of the Zimbabwe Education Fund Board of Directors. As Chairwoman, Christian ensures the effective action of the Board in governing and supporting the organization, and oversees Board affairs. Her community service includes Karmanos Cancer Institute, American Cancer Society, Forgotten Harvest, Stanford Health Education Program, and Ravenswood Read. She received a B.S. in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University. She gained consulting experience at Deloitte Consulting, LLP and Booz Allen Hamilton. Currently, she is an Investment Associate at the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation in New York, New York.

Tanneasha Gordon
Vice Chair
Tanneasha Gordon is Vice Chair of the Zimbabwe Education Fund Board of Directors. Tanneasha is also a board member of the Next Up Music Foundation, and her community service experience includes working with female juvenile adolescent at Lansing in Ithaca, NY, Habitat for Humanity, Rebuilding Together, and leading youth service projects with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. She is a Senior Consultant at Deloitte & Touche LLC and a Vice President of Public Relations at Soblu Inc., in Washington, DC.

Joanne A. Jones Barnett
Board Member
Joanne Jones Barnett has over twenty years of progressive executive level experience in the education and non-profit sector. She currently serves as the CEO of Pennsylvania Virtual Charter School in Norristown, PA. As CEO, she provides oversight to over 3,800 students and 223 staff members, and a $40 million annual budget. She has served as the Founder/Senior Administrator to Christ Temple Preparatory Academy, Assistant Provost for Multicultural and International Affairs at LaSalle University, and Assistant Director of Admissions at Boston University. She also served as the director of Camp Imani Day Camp in Willingboro, New Jersey. She has spent almost 10 years teaching classes K-12 classroom and eight years as an assistant professor at LaSalle University and Howard University School of Divinity. She received a B.S. in Public Communications at Boston University, M.T.S. in New Testament Studies at Boston University School of Theology, and Ph.D. in History of Religions; Early Christianity from Brown University.
Nathaniel David Berman
Board Member
Nathaniel David Berman is a practicing attorney at the U.S Department of Labor, Office of Labor Management Standards in Washington, DC. His former legal experience includes the New York State Office of the Attorney General, New York Hotel and Motel Trades Council, and New York Jobs with Justice. He received a B.S. in Industrial and Labor Relations and Masters in Public Administration from Cornell University and J.D. from St. John’s University. Nathaniel has a demonstrated passion for Zimbabwe as evidenced by his participation in the American Jewish World Service’s International Jewish College Corp Program in Zimbabwe.
Erica Chamblee
Board Member
Erica Chamblee is the president and co-founder of Soblu Inc., a film production, record label and talent management company located in Washington, DC. Erica leads the creative directions of Soblu and is also a highly trained and experienced actress – with experience in theatre plays and feature films. Erica is also a skilled writer and fundraiser and has supported an array of organizations dedicated to education and the arts such as the Duke Ellington School of the Arts, Kennedy Center for Performing Arts, Woolly Mammoth and the Helen Hayes Foundation. Erica was trained at SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Theatre Arts and Film where she received her Bachelor’s in Arts. |
